Every rock fan from any corner of the world has faced that argument at least once in life: “who is the best guitar player in the world?”. But here the problem is everybody owns their own different music tastes and opinions on it. So the questions remain the same.
Well, the fact is some of them are likely prone to melodic guitar styles and some others are heavy rock enthusiastic. So that’s the reason people can't choose the best of all in manners.
So how can we identify the best of all?
It’s very impossible to mark one guitarist as the best, so we are coming with the list of most popular guitarists of all time.
Jimmy Hendrix - He was an American rock guitarist and a singer. He almost wrote every song on his own, so he was a songwriter too. He started his career at a very early age although his mainstream career spanned for only 4 years. He was the biggest influential electric guitarist and also the most celebrated musician in the 20th century. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame describes Jimmy Hendrix as the best guitarist of all time in rock music history. That’s a huge achievement he received that showed the tremendous success he got in his career. But sadly on 18th September in 1970, he lost his life at a very young age.
Eric Clapton - He’s one of the best English guitarists of all time who was born on 30th march of 1945. From a very early age, he started to conquer the rock and blues genre as well. He is also a popular singer too. He wrote almost all of his songs by his own, so guessing him as a professional songwriter won’t be wrong. Eric Clapton is the one and the only guitarist who was inducted for the three-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was inducted first time as a solo artist then he was inducted as a member of the Yardbirds and Cream. It was a huge achievement for him. Also, he has been a member of Derek and the Dominos.
Saul Hudson - He’s a professional British American musician and songwriter. Saul Hudson is a popular personality worldwide under the name Slash. He popularized among British and Americans as the lead guitarist of an American Hard Rock band Guns N’ Roses. As a member of this American brand, he became the biggest name worldwide in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Stevie Ray Vaughan - He was an instrumentalist, singer and songwriter who was born on 3rd October 1954 in America. He also was a successful record producer at the time. His career in the mainstream was spanned for almost 7 years. He’s considered as one of the biggest guitarist influencers in the world. He conquered the blues genre in the 1980s like no one else.
Tony Lommy - He is an English guitarist and songwriter. He is also well known as a successful producer. He is a founding member and leads guitarist of the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath. Sadly he lost his ring finger and middle finger of the right hand at the age of 17 and gave up on music. His boss encouraged him to continue playing by playing a record of the jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt. From then he carried on and down-tuned his guitar for easier playing and finally, later it helped give birth to heavy metal music.
